Photograph of Rev. E. H. Shuey; (died 1/15/1944). He was a former pastor of the First United Brethren church in Decatur when the present church building at Union and Eldorado street was built. He was also pastor of the Third United Brethren church here when the present building was built. He came here in 1907 and resigned in 1913 to become presiding elder of the Springfield district of the U. B. Church, but retained his residence here. In 1919 he became pastor of the Third U. B. church here. In 1922 he resigned and moved to Galesburg. He later became field secretary for Indiana Central College. His last pastorate before retirement was at Sumner. He had traveled extensively over the world, and before coming to Decatur he organized the church in Terre Haute, Ind. He had also served as field secretary for Westfield College and was instrumental in the organization of the church in Springfield. In this photo with him are his first wife, Ivah Mills Shuey, and his four daughters, Mrs. Naomi Sehimo, Mrs. Pauline Sherwood, Mrs. Ulta F. Kramer and Mrs. Avice B. Hammond.
