Photograph of the exterior of the Powers Grand Opera House taken in 1896. Photograph of the Opera House Block, "Water, N. 200 Block. This was the Smith's Opera House which was built in 1870 and used until the Powers Grand Opera House was erected in 1889. After it was discontinued as a theater, it was turned into business houses. The entrance number of the theater in 1955 was 225 N. Water, the Fannie Mae Candy Shop. This photo from the collection of Mrs. W. F. Busher, grandmother of W. Curtis Busher."
