Description
Herald and Review Library: Moyer, Pvt. Cyril; Article on back of photo; "Moyer Travels 12,000 Miles; One Day in Africa, by Maxine Kyle Herald and Review; Twelve thousand miles of troop ship travel including a stopover in Africa hasn't put Pvt. Cyril Moyer, 1980 West Wood street, on any battle scenes, he reported while on furlough here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. LeRoy Moyer. When Private Moyer disembarked at a West Africa port the first part of January, he said that he was handed what he had been looking for since a month before and what he had given up hope of seeing considering the fact that he had set foot on the Dark Continent. It was his orders to report to Officers Candidate school --in Texas. Private Moyer said that he had not gone beyond the boat dock when he and four fellow troop ship passengers were given their orders to go home. They didn't go any further into the Dark Continent."
