Description
Herald and Review Library: Huffman, Lieut. Delbert; Article on back of photo; "When Lieut. Delbert Huffman, former Millikin National bank clerk, has another furlough he is going to spend his time someplace where no one will be asking him questions, or so he said the other day when he was in Decatur from his home in Arcola. It is no wonder that Lieutenant Huffman has been busily engaged in conversation with inquisitive friends during his furlough. He piloted a
B-17 bomber over Rome, Naples and Athens, to mention a few of his 13 missions. Over Athens, his bomber was shot down, caught fire, the crew had to leave the ship. He caught three shots in the left arm and received an injured back when he landed."
