WWII - Herald and Review Library; Allyn, William Leonard, 8/30/1943. Article attached to back of photo: "William Leonard Allyn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Allyn, 855 W. Packard St., is a member of the seventeenth class of aviation cadets which will be graduated from the advanced twin-engine army flying school, Columbus, Miss, today, the school has announced. he will receive the silver wings of a flying officer and commission as a second lieutenant in the air forces. Lieutenant Allyn, entered pilot training last September and attended flying schools at Camden Ark., and Greenville, Miss."
