WWII - Herald and Review Library; Allen, Robert 4/19/1945. Article with photo included on back: "Robert was born in Decatur on Mar 21, 1923, and lived here all his life. He was a Decatur High School graduate. He leaves his parents, a brother, Lt. E. G. Allen with the Fifth Arm in Italy, and two sister, Mrs. Margaret Larsen of Decatur, and Mrs .Dorothy Burns of Columbia, S. C. The family will hold a short, private memorial service in the home Sunday afternoon. Dr. H. Clifford Northcott, pastor of the First Methodist church in Champaign and an Alpha Delta Phi fraternity brother of Lieutenant Allen, will speak at the services".
