Herald and Review Library: Hawkins, Wilma P. ; Article on back of photo; Wilma P. Hawkins, Decatur's first Negro WAAC, arrived here Saturday on a five-day furlough and is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. c. Hawkins, 1163 west Green street. she recently completed a course in the motor unit at Waacs school at Des Moines, Iowa, and will now enter the non-commissioned officers school. She formerly taught kindergarten and was director of Scovill playground."
