Description

Photograph of the Wabash R.R. St. Louis Bridge, taken December 1st, 1912. Caption: A crew of men with a steam engine has been working under the railroad track on this bridge most of the summer. It has been a curious sight to see an upright boiler with smoke pouring from the stack in the truss work of the bridge. Many persons not acquainted with what was going on at first might have been astonished to see clouds of smoke arise from the steel roadway. Something like $25,000 has been expended in fining the bridge for the heavy traffic that will come on when the double training is finished.
