Description

Photograph of 358 N. Main St. This house was one of the last downtown Decatur residences to go in making room for business houses. The house was torn down in 1921. George W. Moeller had bought the house from the Isabelle Stafford estate and on the site built the store building. It is unknown just when the house was built, but in 1883 Rev. John W. Tyler and his family was living there. In its last days it was the Hotel Main. When torn down the old house was surrounded by buildings.
