Photograph of Aaron Smick; (died 11/19/1913). Decatur real estate dealer for many years. In the late 1870's he and C. C. Carter opened a real estate, loan and insurance office at 152 E. Prairie St. They remained in business together until about 1886. After that Mr. Smick conducted the business alone. In 1889 his office was at 146 E. Main. From there he moved to the Arcade Building. In 1903 he moved his office to 116 Merchandt street and then to 502 Wait building. After the business section was rebuilt following the big fire, he went back to 116 Merchandt street. He was a verteran of the Civil War and was wounded in the Battle of Shiloh. Photo by Wasson of Decatur, ran Nov 19, 1913.
