Herald and Review Library: Photo of Jack P. Hewitt; Article on back of photo; "Jack P. Hewitt was back in uniform again, this time for a two week period at the New Orleans Port of Embarkation. Mr. Hewitt, a 1st Lt. in the Signal Reserve Corps, was assigned, under the Mobilization Training Program, to the Port Signal Division and received various phases of signal training.
A graduate of Decatur High School, he attended James Millikin University before he entered the Army during the last War. He was t hen assigned to the 102nd Division and participated in the Normandy Invasion.
Mr. Hewitt and his wife and small son are now residing in North Little Rock, Arkansas, where he is employed as an Insurance Inspector for the Retail Credit Company of that city. Mr. Hewitt is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Hewitt of 1132 East Olive street in Decatur. Very truly yours, S. Noble, 1st Lt., QMC, Public Information Officer."
