Herald and Review Library: Photo of African American Draftees; Article on back of photo; "These Negro selectees were scheduled to leave Decatur early this morning for Peoria where they will take physical examinations for induction into the U. S. Army. Men in the first row being sent by Decatur draft board No. 1, and those in the second and third rows by Decatur board No. 2. The men; left to right are: First Row: Contingent Leader Charles Leonard Worlds, Warner E. Portis, Louis Halloway, James McCullough, and James Holloway; Second Row: Clarence Montgomery, Roth Raymond Brewer, Eugene King, Floyd V. Moore and George William; Third Row: Wellington L. Bernard, Henry Harris, Contingent Leader Jesse Willard Simpson, and Sam Deese."
