Description
Herald and Review Library: Photo of Draftees on Train; Article on back of photo: "Guillory 77 On March 21, 1941, this young man, attired in a snappy zoot suit and hat, peers out the train window, deeply absorbed in thought. This group of prewar draftees was heading for Chicago, and the conductor seems to have been surprised by the cameraman. For the next four years trains would be swamped with soldiers." "Guillory; article; "Four Macon County draftees look out upon an uncertain future as their trains pulls into dingy Dearborn station at Chicago. Left, top to bottom, are Charles Bowden, Morao, George Myers, Oreana, and Earl Gisinger, Argenta. Right is Robert Stolley, Decatur. The conductor is Frank Williams."
