Photograph of Robert C. Doake (d. 11/22/1945). He was the co-owner of the former Chapman-Doake Co. which was one of Decatur's oldest grain processing and dealer firms. The company gave its milling business in 1935 after a fire destroyed its mill and storehouse at E. Main and Broadway. The firm dissolved in 1945, and the business was then carried by Mrs. R.W. Chapman under the name Chapman Feed Co., 540 E. Main St. The company was incorporated originally in 1912. He was prominent at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The photo was taken by Rembrandts, and used in the Decatur Herald or Daily Review December 9, 1928.
