Sergeant Russell Ely, (first from left front row) formerly of Decatur, Illinois, and now an engineer on a B-24 bomber, is shown with the rest of his crew after completing training in the Second Air Force at Gowen Field, Idaho. The sergeant is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley D. Ely of 1161 E. Johns Street, Decatur, Illinois. The sergeant and other members of the crew are scheduled some time in the near future to go overseas and do their part in a combat area. Sergeant Ely, before he entered the armed forces was employed by the General Electric Co. in Bridgeport, Conn. (Official photo of the U. S. Army Air Forces."
