Description
Herald and Review Library: Photo of men reporting for Compulsory Training, Macon County, IL. Article on back of photo; "Those leaving at 7 a.m. today for Peoria and induction into the army, are shown here after they received instructions on examination of the county courthouse yesterday. They represent the latest contingent from Macon County. Among them are a small percentage from the third registration in February; and draft clerks said that future calls could contain the names of many more of this group. The men have orders to report to the I.T.S. station at 7 a.m. today. This group will not return after examination unless they fail to pass the physical examination. Leaders of groups from Decatur boards are William Oetzel, Decatur board No. 2, and L. P. Cundiss and George B. W. Osborne, Decatur board No. 1."
