Herald and Review Library: Whitlock, Capt. Harold T., Article on back of photo; "Capt. Whitlock Back in States; Chaplain Harold T. Whitlock, former associate pastor of the First Methodist church, has recently returned to the States after serving more than two years in the Mediterranean theater. Chaplain Whitlock is stationed at Ellington Field, Texas and holds the rank of captain. He served as a member of the 99th bombardment group and landed at Oran, North Africa in May, 1943. He then participated in the invasions of Sicily and Italy. He wears the Distinguished Unit badge with Oak Leaf cluster, and the European-African-Mediterranean theater ribbon with 12 battle stars. His wife and their two children, Sandra and Joyce, live in Springfield. He is the son of Rev. and Mrs. W. H. Whitlock of Hillsboro, IL."
