Herald and Review Library: Turner, James M., Article on back of photo; "James M. Turner, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Turner, 1500 North Fairview avenue, has been graduated from recruit training as honor man of his company at the Great Lakes Naval Training station. he is a graduate of Decatur high school and has won recommendation for petty officer's training at the navy aviation machinist's mate school. He is home on a nine-day leave with his parents. A brother, Ralph, 19, is a seaman first class in the navy."
